SMT machines, also known as surface mounting systems and mounting machines. In general, in a production line, a SMT machine is a device that is equipped after a dispensing machine or screen printing machine, and precisely places surface mounted components on PCB pads through a mobile mounting head.

Below is a brief introduction to several types of SMT machines

Type 1: SMT mounting machine

SMT mounting machine is the fourth generation electronic assembly technology, which has the advantages of high component installation density, easy automation, improved production efficiency, and reduced costs. The SMT production line consists of three processes: screen printing, component placement, and reflow soldering, among which the placement of SMC/SMD is an important component of the entire surface mounting process.

Type 2: LED SMT machine

LED SMT mounting machine is a SMT mounting equipment specially designed and customized for the LED industry, used to assemble large quantities of LED circuit boards. It uses the principle of guide rails or linear motors to control the driving head, and is equipped with professional spunbond suction heads, so as to minimize production defects such as sticking and throwing during the installation process, ensuring its stability and service life.

Type 3: Fully automatic SMT machine

As the name suggests, a fully automatic SMT machine is a fully automated mechanical SMT machine that does not require manual positioning.

The fully automatic SMT placement machine is a device used to achieve high-speed and high-precision fully automatic placement of components, and is a key and complex equipment in the entire SMT production.

What does a SMT machine do? How is the SMT machine operated?

The first step is to draw a picture. Create an image board using a pre drawn PCB image, print it onto the circuit board, and then corrode it. This way, the basic circuit of the circuit board comes out, followed by punching holes and printing silk screen printing.

The second step is to develop a positioning program on the SMT machine. The positioning program is based on the pre drawn MARK points on the circuit board. After programming, solder flux is applied to all the areas that need to be soldered on the circuit board. A mesh board made for this type of circuit board is used to cover the PCB board, and the holes made on the mesh board can be coated with solder flux (solder paste) on the PCB. Then, the components are attached to the PCB board using a SMT machine and reflow soldered, so that the components are soldered onto the PCB board.
